Gilde acquires Johma Salades and Uniq Sandwiches

Utrecht – Gilde today announces the acquisition of Johma Salades and Uniq Sandwiches from Uniq Plc. Together these companies generate a turnover of about € 100 million.Johma produces an extensive range of spreadable salads, which are sold and distributed via various channels and is well know in the Netherlands for its ‘Johma Salads’ slogan. Uniq Sandwiches is one of the leading producers of freshly-made, pre-packaged sandwiches, rolls and wraps. Johma was founded in 1968 in Losser, situated in the eastern part of the Netherlands. Both companies have a rich and longstanding history.
In 2006, Gilde also acquired Hamal Signature the Belgian fellow subsidiary of Johma from Uniq Plc. Gilde furthermore owns several other food companies, including Bart’s Retail (Bakker Bart bakeries) and Banketgroep (pastry products and Dutch syrup waffles). Its portfolio also includes companies that are active in other sectors, such as HG and Kroon Oil.
