Hamal Signature is a producer and marketer of spreadable salads, such as fish and chicken salads, for on bread or toast. The company is the Belgian market leader. Hamal Signature sells its salads through the supermarket, out-of-home and traditional channels. Salads are marketed under the Delio, Hamal, VH Signature and Johma brands as well as under private label. The company operates a state-of-the-art factory in Turnhout, Belgium and employs about 180 people. The company’s products are widely known and respected for their high quality and “artisanale” preparation.

Development
In November 2006 the company passed via a management buyout into the hands of the management and GEM Benelux. Hamal Signature was owned by the UK-listed company Uniq Plc. Thanks to the investment of GEM Benelux, Hamal Signature has regained its independence and focus on the local Belgian market. Since the acquisition new investments have been made in the organization and factory capacity has been expanded. A new and premium brand for the retail market (Delio) have been launched and new products and concepts are being developed continuously.
