Axxicon is dedicated to the development, engineering, production and sale of high-grade moulds for the production of plastic products and is the world market leader in the field of moulds for CDs and DVDs. Alongside moulds for this optical media, Axxicon produces other high-precision tools. The company has its key production location in Eindhoven and sales offices in Hong Kong and Los Angeles, employing about 120 people in total. The company’s in-house development department ensures that Axxicon remains in the vanguard of technological progress.

Development
In July 2004 the company passed via a management buyout into the hands of the management and Gilde Benelux. Axxicon was owned by the Swiss-listed company Mikron Holding AG. Thanks to the investment of Gilde Benelux, Axxicon has regained its independence and can respond flexibly and adequately to new opportunities in the market. One such opportunity exists with the expected market upturn in 2006 brought about by consumer adoption of third-generation optical media carriers.
