D&M Coatings
D&M Coatings produces and delivers high-grade coating systems to the carpentry, furniture and light metal industry in North-West Europe. In addition, the company produces and sells professional paint coatings and road paint. The paint factory in Veenendaal is among the most advanced in Europe. Intensive R&D activities result in the continuous innovation and refinement of D&M’s products.The company formerly constituted an important part of the Coatings Division of the UK company Hickson International PLC. In 1997 it passed via a management buy-out into the hands of the management team and GEM Benelux.
As a result of the management buy out the company and its German subsidiary have since 1997 operated as an independent company called D&M Coatings. This independence enabled D&M to invest in new technology and successfully expand its market position in Germany and Eastern Europe. In 2005 SigmaKalon acquired D&M Coatings with the view to further expand capacity and position the company as its European centre of excellence for a certain range of coatings.
