Raak Metals Group welcomes Sylvester van de Logt as new managing director

Tilburg - The Raak Metals Group, a leading metal recycling company with six locations, proudly announces the appointment of Sylvester van de Logt as its new director. Starting from January 1, 2024, Sylvester will assume his role and leverage his extensive experience to further strengthen our organization, with a special focus on growth, sustainability, and circularity.

The Raak Metals Group provides metal collection and recycling services to both large industrial clients and small and medium-sized businesses in the region. Under the leadership of Maarten van Raak and Will van Aerle, the Raak Metals Group has experienced remarkable growth since its collaboration with Gilde Equity Management in 2020. The number of locations has doubled, and the service area has expanded through acquisitions in Breda, Roosendaal, and Den Bosch. Currently, we recycle the equivalent of nearly 20 Eiffel Towers worth of metal per year.

With an impressive career that includes holding various financial and general management positions in both family-owned businesses and major corporations such as Philips and KPMG, Sylvester brings a wealth of knowledge. And with nearly twenty years of experience in logistics and mergers and acquisitions, Sylvester adds valuable expertise to the Raak Metals Group.

Maarten van Raak is delighted by Sylvester's arrival: "With his extensive experience in family businesses and logistics services, he is a perfect fit for our company and our employees. With the support of Gilde Equity Management, we have been able to elevate our business to new heights, and with Sylvester on board, we look forward to an even more successful future."

Sylvester van de Logt adds: "I am excited to begin my journey with this wonderful family-owned company and to make a valuable contribution to the growth ambitions of the Raak Metals Group in the years to come, leveraging my experience and expertise."

Eschwin Hetzenauer, Senior Partner at Gilde Equity Management, emphasizes: "Since our collaboration with Maarten, Will, and the Raak Metals team in 2020, we have experienced significant growth and have welcomed several family businesses to the Raak Metals Group. We are thrilled that Sylvester van de Logt is joining us to help achieve the next phase of growth and success for Raak Metals, with sustainability as a guiding principle."
